Opcity has been very successful in increasing the close rate of traditionally low-value online leads. Opcity achieved this by calling online leads immediately, matching the lead to the right agent, and connecting them through a live transfer process.

However, even after an initial conversation, online leads can be challenging for agents to turn into clients, let alone close. To succeed, agents need to build a trusted relationship quickly, despite a limited starting foundation.

Not surprisingly, many referrals never get beyond the initial conversation to become clients. Small changes in the ‘met’ rate can greatly increase the expected close rate. We need to help agents establish a relationship with Opcity referrals early to turn these referrals into active clients.

Our data shows that in 90% of Opcity closes, the agent meets with their client within 12 days of being connected (initial phone call).  Relatedly, 72% of buyers and sellers will work with the first agent they meet face-to-face.

The challenge

In addition, a primary challenge was creating a feature that would be a suitable substitute for their native messaging and calling applications. We knew we needed to add additional functionality that would provide benefits for turning their referrals into clients - benefits that their native applications didn't provide.
